was founded by violinist Radim Kresta in year 2007, originally as the “Taras Piano Trio”.

As a piano trio ensemble has achieved success in many international competitions: J. Brahms Wettbewerb 2007 – 1st prize, Premio Rovere d’Oro 2008 – 1st prize, Val Tidone Music Competitions 2010 – 1st prize, Concorso Salieri-Zinetti 2012 – 3rd prize (as a duo violin – cello).

Since midyear 2012 the ensemble has played as a piano quartet under name “Ensemble Taras”.

In this formation it has achieved outstanding success in year 2013 by two victories in international chamber music competitions at Concorso Salieri-Zinetti in Verona (1st prize) and the victory in one of the most prestigious competitions in this field, “Premio Trio di Trieste” (1st prize).

By winning these competitions the ensemble received many offers to play all over the world, including Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, USA and others.

The ensemble is currently preparing to record a CD for “Azzura Music” with music by G. Mahler and J. Brahms (piano quartet op. 25) and a CD and DVD for “Limen music and arts – Milan” with music by G. Fauré (op. 15) and J. Brahms (op.60).

The quartet is based in Prague, Czech Republic. From February 2014 the ensemble has been performing under the new name: “Josef Suk Piano Quartet”.

It is in memory of violinist Josef Suk – one of the most significant personalities of violin generation in 20th century, the grandson of a famous Czech composer Josef Suk. The ensemble was kindly allowed to use this name by Mrs Marie Suková – the wife of this great artist.
